2026 Laser Run – Australian and Oceania Championships

Modern Pentathlon Australia is excited to announce the 2026 Australian and Oceania Laser Run Championships, taking place at Werribee Racecourse at Werribee, Victoria.
This action-packed championship event will kick off a weekend of laser run events, including the UIPM Global Laser Run City Tour. Running in conjunction with the Spartan Melbourne Event Weekend, the event will bring together athletes from across Australia and Oceania to compete in the most fast-paced and accessible format of modern pentathlon.
Provisional Timetable:
Saturday, 8 August 2026
- 9:00-9:45am - arrival and registration
- 10:00am - 12:30pm - racing
- 1:00pm - presentation
Race Distances:
- U11 - 2x300M (2x5 hits shooting)
- U13 - 3x300m (3x5 hits shooting)
- U15 - 3x600m (3x5 hits shooting)
- U17 - 4x600m (4x5 hits shooting)
- U19 - 5x600m (5x5 hits shooting)
- Junior - 5x600m (5x5 hits shooting)
- Senior - 5x600m (5x5 hits shooting)
- Masters 40+ - 3x300m (3x5 hits shooting)
- Masters 50+ - 3x300m (3x5 hits shooting)
- Masters 60+ - 3x300m (3x5 hits shooting)
- Masters 70+ - 2x300M (2x5 hits shooting)
Ticket options:
You can enter the Australian Championships, the Oceania Championships or both (discount applies if you enter both events as a package). When you purchase a ticket, you will be asked to nominate which age category you wish to compete in. If you want to compete in multiple age categories, you must purchase a separate ticket for each age category. Please ensure you check the membership requirements below if you wish to be eligible for a medal or Championship title.
IMPORTANT: Membership requirements
Modern Pentathlon Australia and its State Associations offer a range of membership categories.

Trialist memberships are available for as little as $10 for 3 months and are designed to encourage participation for people new to the sport. Trialist members are not eligible to medal in national or regional championship events. You are only eligible to be a trialist member once. To upgrade from a trialist membership, contact your State Association or MPA.

Full athlete membership covers you for 12 months and ensures you are eligible for medals and Championship titles in Australian and Oceania Championship events.

We need your help! This event cannot run without volunteer assistance from our wonderful community of athletes, parents, friends and supporters. To ensure the day runs smoothly, please put your hand up to help out by registering for a Volunteer ticket. If you are not already an MPA member, please register as a 'Stay In Touch' member to access this ticket.
By volunteering for at least one hour on the day, you will receive a $10 discount code which can be applied against event entries in the Australian Pentathlon Championships in November 2026 (for you, your child or someone else you nominate).
