MPA Announces Major Week of Coaching, Development and Multisport Competition at AIS Canberra
Modern Pentathlon Australia (MPA) is pleased to announce a comprehensive program of education, development, and competition to be held at the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) in Canberra from 16–22 February 2026.
The week-long schedule will feature four key initiatives designed to strengthen the pathway for athletes, coaches, and officials across Australia:
- UIPM Level 2 Coaching Course – providing advanced training and accreditation for single- and multi-sport coaches seeking to expand their expertise and understanding of modern pentathlon disciplines.
- MPA Officials Course – delivering essential education for existing and aspiring officials to support high-quality and consistent event delivery nationally.
- Athlete Development Camp – offering athletes focused skill development across swimming, running, shooting, and obstacle disciplines in a high-performance environment.
- Tetrathlon and Multisport Festival – a participation- and performance-focused competition opportunity for athletes of all levels.
MPA President/CEO Maki Takken said the initiative reflects the organisation’s commitment to building strong national pathways and expanding opportunities for the modern pentathlon community.
“Bringing coaches, officials, and athletes together at the AIS creates an environment for growth, connection, and performance. This week will play an important role in developing our next generation of leaders and athletes,” said Takken.
