Seventeen-year-old Charli Sewell has capped off a stunning campaign at the 2025 UIPM OCR World Championships in Beijing, China, claiming a golden trifecta of victories in the Under-19 division.
Sewell dominated the competition with commanding wins in all three events — taking out the 100m (1:11.09), 400m (2:36.61), and 3km (20:52.50) obstacle course races. Her performances established her as a rising star in the sport and demonstrated her versatility, endurance, and strength across multiple distances.
Adding to the family success, Charli’s twin sister, Stevi Sewell, also made the podium, securing silver in the 3km event with a strong time of 23:27.25.
In the Under-17 men’s division, Levi Tubailagi impressed in a fiercely competitive field, finishing 5th in the 3km (15:20.21) and reaching the quarterfinals in the 100m (1:00.00).
On the final day of competition, these talented young athletes teamed up for the Open 3km Team Event, finishing in 14th place with a time of only 64 seconds behind the winners. The trio tested themselves against some of the best elite obstacle specialists in the world, gaining invaluable experience and showcasing their determination and teamwork on the global stage.
“It’s been an amazing experience competing on the world stage,” Charli said. “To come away with three gold medals and share the moment with my sister and teammates makes it even more special.”
The UIPM OCR World Championships brought together elite young athletes from across the globe to test their speed, agility, and endurance in one of the sport’s toughest competitions. For the Sewell twins and Tubailagi, it was an unforgettable experience and a glimpse of the exciting future ahead in international obstacle racing.
