
Kitty Chiller AM OLY appointed First Vice President of World Pentathlon (UIPM), becoming the highest-ranking elected female in the history of the sport
Monaco, 27 January 2026 — The UIPM Executive Board has elected Kitty Chiller AM OLY as the First Vice President of World Pentathlon, marking a significant milestone for the global governance and future direction of the sport.
This appointment, the first ever of a female into this position,reflects Chiller’s more than four decades of service and leadership across the Olympic and international sports sectors. She becomes one of the highestranking officials in the global federation and will play a keyrole in guiding Modern Pentathlon toward the Brisbane 2032 Olympic Games.
A distinguished global sport leader
Kitty Chiller has been a leading figure in Modern Pentathlon since 1982. A former world number one athlete, she represented Australia at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, the first Games to include women’s Modern Pentathlon. She retired after winning 12 National titles and 7 World Cup medals before transitioning into highlevel sports leadership roles.

In 2023, she became the first person from Oceania inducted into the UIPM Hall of Fame, joining fewer than 25 people worldwide who have been recognised by the world governing body for sustained exceptional contribution to the sport.
As First Vice President, Chiller will help steer the global strategy for Modern Pentathlon as UIPM prepares for its inclusion in Brisbane 2032, a home Games for her and a once in a generation opportunity to elevate the sport across Oceania.
Her extensive Olympic leadership experience ensures that UIPM is strongly positioned for athlete engagement, sport innovation, and global visibility as the sport continues to modernise and expand.
