Modern Pentathlon Australia (MPA) proudly congratulates rising star Nicholas Odgers on being named a Tier 3 recipient of the 2026 Sport Australia Hall of Fame (SAHOF) Scholarship & Mentoring Program.
The SAHOF Scholarship & Mentoring Program is one of the nation’s most esteemed recognitions for emerging athletes, supporting Australia’s next generation of sporting champions through financial assistance, networking opportunities, and access to Australia’s most accomplished sporting mentors.
Nicholas Odgers’ selection highlights his outstanding dedication, talent, and commitment to excelling across the five demanding disciplines of modern pentathlon — fencing, swimming, obstacles, running, and laser shooting.
“I’m incredibly honoured to receive this scholarship and to be recognised by the Sport Australia Hall of Fame,” said Odgers. “This support will help me continue to develop as an athlete and push towards my goals on the national and international stage.”
As part of the Tier 3 Scholarship, Odgers will receive a $2,500 sporting expense grant, as well as access to SAHOF’s athlete development resources and events throughout 2026.
Modern Pentathlon Australia President Maki Takken commended Odgers on his achievement:
“Nicholas’ selection is a testament to his hard work, discipline, and passion for the sport. We’re excited to see his continued growth as part of Australia’s emerging modern pentathlon talent.”
The SAHOF Scholarship & Mentoring Program was established in 2006 to recognise and nurture young Australian athletes, connecting them with Australia’s most accomplished sporting heroes. Alumni include Olympic gold medallists, world champions, and leaders in sport.
