Queensland to host major multi-sport Laser Run festival at Ivory’s Rock in May 2026

Modern Pentathlon Australia is excited to announce that Ivory’s Rock, Peak Crossing, Queensland will host a thrilling weekend of competition on 23 May 2026, featuring the 2026 Queensland Obstacle Laser Run and Laser Run Championships alongside the UIPM Global City Laser Run Tour – Ipswich, QLD.

Set against the stunning natural backdrop of the ancient volcanic landscape at the base of Queensland’s Darling Downs, Ivory’s Rock will provide a spectacular venue for athletes, families and supporters. Located just 20 minutes from Ipswich and less than an hour from Brisbane’s CBD, the venue is surrounded by beautiful bushland and native wildlife, creating a unique championship atmosphere for competitors of all ages.

These events will form part of a five-day international celebration of multi-sport action, bringing together athletes and communities from across a range of disciplines. The festival program will also include the OCR Community World Championships from 20–22 May, the Spartan Trifecta Weekend on 23–24 May, and the Australian Ninja Games across the same exciting weekend.

Athletes will have the opportunity to take part in one event or immerse themselves in the full festival experience, making this one of the most dynamic and exciting sporting weekends on the 2026 calendar.

The 2026 Queensland Obstacle Laser Run and Laser Run Championships will showcase the fast-growing disciplines of Laser Run and Obstacle Laser Run in a high-energy championship setting, while the UIPM Global City Laser Run Tour – Ipswich, QLD marks the first Global City Laser Run Tour event in Australia for 2026.
