Australian Team Wrap – UIPM Junior & U17 Pentathlon World Championships, Lithuania

The 2026 UIPM Junior & U17 Pentathlon World Championships in Lithuania, brought together the world’s best young modern pentathletes, with Australia proudly represented by Oliver Clapham in the Junior Men’s competition and Levi Tubailagi in the U17 Men’s event.

Both athletes produced exceptional performances against strong international competition, with personal bests in every discipline highlighting the progress they have made and the exciting future of Australian Modern Pentathlon.

Oliver Clapham – Junior Men

Oliver enjoyed a standout championship, producing personal best performances across every discipline.

He set the benchmark in the obstacle discipline with a blistering 22.88 seconds to record the fastest obstacle time of the entire Junior Men’s qualification. He then followed up with a personal best 1:08.40 swim, before recording a personal best fencing performance with eight victories.

Oliver capped off his championships with a superb personal best 11:28.97 laser run, adding 612 points to finish 24th overall with 1,413 points.

To produce personal bests across all four disciplines on the world stage is a remarkable achievement and reflects Oliver’s dedication, consistency and exciting potential as he continues to develop internationally.

Levi Tubailagi – U17 Men

Levi also delivered an outstanding championship, recording personal best performances in every discipline.

He opened with a personal best fencing performance, recording eight victories, before producing one of the standout obstacle races of Qualification A with a 24.29-second run—the third-fastest obstacle time in the field.

Levi continued his excellent form with a personal best 1:10.18 swim, before finishing with a superb personal best 9:47.61 laser run. His outstanding finish saw him climb six places to secure 17th overall in Qualification A.

Achieving personal bests across every discipline at a World Championship is a testament to Levi’s hard work, determination and continued progression on the international stage.

For both Oliver and Levi to achieve personal bests across every discipline while competing against the world’s best young pentathletes is an outstanding accomplishment and demonstrates the strength of Australia’s emerging talent.
