What a huge weekend of action at Ivory’s Rock, Queensland for the 2026 Queensland Obstacle Laser Run and Laser Run Championships alongside the first Australian round of the UIPM Global Laser Run City Tour! 

Athletes from across Australia took on a fantastic day of racing, combining fast-paced Laser Run action with exciting obstacle competition in the spectacular setting of Ivory’s Rock.

From first-time competitors to seasoned athletes, it was inspiring to see participants of all ages take on the challenge, and especially exciting to welcome athletes from across Australia and around the world. The diversity, camaraderie and sportsmanship on display captured exactly what our sport is all about.

There were strong performances across all age groups, with athletes showcasing speed, endurance, precision shooting and obstacle skills throughout the day. The event also provided athletes with the opportunity to earn valuable Global Laser Run City Tour ranking points while competing for Queensland Championship titles.

We are also proud to share that this event marked a major milestone — it was the first competition in Australia held under UIPM rules on the full UIPM OCR short course rig. Watching athletes tackle this world-class setup, made possible with the generous assistance of Spartan Australia, was a huge leap forward for modern pentathlon and OCR Laser Run in Australia and a powerful glimpse of the sport’s future.
